Every Time I Look At You I Go Blind

I'm trying to set a watch and it's not going well. I think I have hysterical brain-blindness caused by instruction manuals. There's just something about the thought of using an instruction manual that makes my brain turn off. I lose my ability to read, to reason.

I once had to throw a vacuum cleaner away, mainly because I never could bring myself to look at the instruction manual so I could change the belt. As a result it was irreparably damaged.

It's been lamented that children don't come with instruction manuals. Thank goodness for that. Otherwise, every time I saw a child, I'd see its accompanying instruction manual and my brain would turn off.
